WELCOME TO THE JONES FAMILY COMMUNITY ON HOOSIER ROOTS
My maternal grandfather was John Jacob JONES Sr, a descendent of Hiram Addison JONES (1795-1878) and Sarah TAYLOR. The origins of the family are still unknown. By the 1860's the family was located in Boone County, Indiana, moving to Attica in Fountain County, Indiana by the 1890's.
I am endebted to my aunt Erma Ruth Walker Jones, for the little information I do have on the Jones line. I look forward to verifying her records and expanding on her research as time permits.

Sarah TAYLOR (13 Mar 1804 - 11 Jul 1878) married Hiram Addison JONES October 19, 1819. Where were they married? Where was Sarah born and where did she die? It is belived her father's name was Wright Taylor and that perhaps she was from Kentucky. Find more information on Sarah's ancestry. |
